Hi everyone! I really have a hard time finding the right shade of red lipstick for my medium yellow skin. Most red lipsticks would make my teeth look more yellow. This lipstick was sent to me by Charmaine of Starmaine Cay. You can also check her sister's site, Anna of The Makeup Suite. I will put their links at the end of the review.
Lime Crime is known for their slogan, Makeup "so bright, it's illegal".
As I have said before, Lime Crime lipsticks have the best packaging ever. Hehe I really adore the purplish pink packaging with glitzy designs of stars and a unicorn. It looks so creative and cute! The price is quite expensive, in my honest opinion. I could splurge such amount on some MAC lipstick instead. The lipstick formula is very ordinary. It reminds me of the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I am not a fan of the scent. It smells a lot like a regular lipstick. The best lipstick scent I have smelled are from NYX Black Label Line.
The lipstick glides smoothly on the lips.
The shade Retrofuturist is a True Red. The color is a very neutral one leaning a bit on the blue based red color range. This lipstick is vegan, thus, they do not test on animals.
The shade is really really pigmented. The color pay off is extremely great! This can leave a stain on your lips. This swatch I made on the back of my hand was really hard to remove. The staying power is good. Although, it does come off when you eat. I was wearing this lipstick a while while having dinner and I noticed that the color on the inner portion of my lips close to my teeth faded.
The sheen really bothers me a lot so I have to blot it off with tissue or set it with a translucent loose powder. Glossy lipsticks especially the dark and bright ones accentuate my big and pouty lips (and I hate it). I love to pair this with a dark red lip liner from Nichido. You need two layers of lipstick to achieve that even red sheen. For everyday wear, I use my pinky finger to dab the lipstick on my lips for a more natural look. This red lipstick does not make my teeth look more yellowish. Further, the shade really brightens up my face.
Is this my perfect red lipstick? No. I want to try other matte Red lipsticks like the NYX Soft Matte lipcream in Monte Carlo. I also want to try the beautiful MAC Ruby Woo.

Hi everyone!!! I saw these lipsticks from a post of Kumiko or Lovingsunshine.com. I wanted a red lipstick that is really cheap since I am not into red lippies (they have the tendency to makeup my lips look bigger!!! arghhhh!!! ). Anyways, I am so late on finding these lipsticks considering that I have a strong penchant for local cheap thrills! Correct me if I am wrong but I think they are the cheapest LOCAL brand of makeup available in the Philippine market. Of course, I was expecting this to be made in China but it is made in Taiwan. Hmmm.. Will there be any difference if that's the case? NYX and Maybelline are both made in China and their products are very nice! I am also looking at their ingredients and I saw no sign of parabens in it .. or perhaps they just included a different name??
I wanted to get five lipsticks but I forcefully (haha) restrained myself from getting five! Why? Because I ordered 6 or 7 NYX lippies!! They have not yet arrived but I am really excited to get my hands on them.
Here are the lip swatches:
J This shade is a very pigmented neutral deep red. This is perfect for warm/yellow skin tones like me. I have a hard time finding a nice red lipstick and this one compliments my skintone and does not make my teeth yellow.
N This is a very beautiful peachy pink shade. I find this lipstick creamier than the other two shades.
Q This is a frosty blue toned pink. This shade is quite tricky. It may not suit majority of Filipina skin that much.
What I love about these lipsticks:
Pigmentation is good. Shade N and J are very pigmented! With shade Q, you have to double the layer to get your desired shade/pigmentation.
The texture of shade N is creamier compared to the other two. They are easy to apply and glides smoothly on the lips unlike Ever Bilena's Matte lipsticks. Also, compared to the very soft texture of NYX round lipsticks, these are way better since they do not smear nor stain my teeth.

It has a nice staying power (2-3 hours, if my memory serves me right).
It has manufacturing date. This will serve a good guide in determining whether these lipsticks have already expired.
They have a wide range of colors. Majority of the shade are very wearable.
What I do not like about these lipsticks:
The packaging is very tacky. Poor packaging talaga!!!! Well, what do you expect in a 50 pesos lipstick!?!
These can be drying on the lips (not too much though.. that is for my lips ahh.. ).
No funky smell when applied on the lips. However, when you will intentionally smell these lipsticks (as in close to your nose..), it has a faint plastic smell.
I hate the alphabet shade names!!! Hello!?! A B C D E F G?? The names are so hard to recall.
This holiday season, how do you get that much coveted bold red lips? Almost all my favorite youtube gurus are making their Holiday tutorial with red lips!! yay!! I have never dared to wear red lipstick when going out since I felt like a whore wearing one. haha I just envy those girls who can pull off red lips with such a breeze. This time, I am braver to wear one on a Christmas Party. My ultimate problem -- How to make it last. Surely, parties would entail a lot of eating and drinking. Going to the washroom for touch ups every now and then is a big distraction (at least for me). Here is a simple tip on how I make my red lips lasts longer:
First: Make sure that your lips are well moisturized. I used my Vaseline Lip Therapy in cherry.
Then, coat your lips with red lip tint. I use my Tony Moly Lip and Cheek tint in Red Apple. This is the trick to make the color lasts longer on your lips. This is your base color. The lipstick may fade when you eat and drink but the red tint will not fade easily. It also prevents the lipstick from getting to your teeth since you will use less lipstick .
Define your lips with a red lip liner. I am using the Nichido Lip Liner in Blaze.
Apply your red lipstick. I used my Nyx ELECTRA. You may use red tint and a lip liner alone but I applied red lipstick to accentuate the color more.

Finding the right shade of red is really hard for me. I think this shade suits me.. Don't you think?

ELECTRA This is a neutral red color if I am not mistaken since it suits my medium yellow skin very well. It goes one very creamy too.
HAUTE COUTOUR This is medium very shade with tiny gold flecks (hardly noticeable at all.. ) I noticed that this does not have that funky soapy smell.. Does it mean that the new summer shades have a new formula?? Hmmm...Does anyone who owns the new summer shade collection of NYX round lipstick notice this too?

I always love using lipstain since it stays longer on my lips and I hate retouching especially when I am in school.
The balm is really nice.. I love that it makes my lips well moisturized and gives me that beautiful sheen too.
My very first time to use a felt tip lipstain. It really help in giving my lips a more defined look.
This stain is really pigmented.
What to love:
Very pigmented. If you just want a hint of color on your lips apply it very lightly. On the other hand, I love layering it to get a bolder shade.. I think it is perfect to wear to parties because it will not wear off easily.
You get two products in 1. A stain and a balm.. I use the balm alone to moisturize my lips.. Really nice product from revlon.
It lasts for a very long time.

It feels really light on the lips.
The felt tip helps in precise application. It gives my lips a more defined look.. What I do is line the outer shape of my lips first then filling it.
Transfer resistant.
What to hate:
Very drying. You have to really moisturize your lips before using it.
Be careful using the lipbalm because it is affixed in a protruding manner it easily breaks. I broke mine.. :C
The shade crave is a sexy deep fushia with hints of dark purple in it. Very exquisite color!!
I was wearing it while studying!!hahaha Feeling fab while learning.. It made my teeth look whiter!! (pardon the dark circles.. I am not wearing any makeup at all except for the lipstain.)
I think Revlon is coming up with really great products..

Since school started I tried to take off my kikay/kaartehan cloak in school and I even tried harder shifting to the Nerdy Mode. To no avail, I cannot resist reading beauty blogs and buying online. :S I even dared myself countless of times to wear make up in school. My aunt from Paris, France arrived a week ago. She was opening her balikbayan box and handed out to me lipsticks from Revlon and H&M.I immediately grabbed the Revlon one.
I tried looking for a review about this lipstick on the net. I found out that this is not available in the US. This particular line was from Revlon Paris which is designed specifically for the European market. I thought I found my best red lipstick from Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Red Revival but this one is more of a true red. The former has a hint of dark fuchsia pink in it. This lipstick is super creamy even on my dry lips and does not look too matte.
Red is Sexy.
No lipliner. No balm. Just Revlon Rouge Lipstick.

i really don't like my lips that much. i find it really thick and pouty.
Thanks to angelina jolie's lips hype, i have learned to somehow like it. (just a little) whenever i put on a red lipstick i look clownish!!hmpf But i have learned a key in choosing the right shade of red lipstick is looking at one's undertone.

If you have Cool Skin Tones - which is women with pink or rosy undertones - You will want to look for a lipstick shade that has a cool undertone like: a pinky red, blue based-reds, berry-reds, brick reds and plum tones
If you have Warm Skin Tones - which is women with yellow undertones - You will want to look for a lipstick that has a warm undertone, like: warm and deep red, burgundy, brown based reds or the shade of wine.
since i have yellow tones, warm shade of red suits me.
i am not fond of wearing red lipstick when going out. i really find the color too strong and flamboyant plus, my mama and papa find the color too garish for their taste. (HMPF)
