2013 was a lippie year for me. I got tons of lipsticks from different brands this year. Can you imagine that I have accumulated 80+ lippies in my kit? I would not know what to do with them, thankfully, I am now into the professional Hair and Makeup Artistry field. I already depotted almost half of my lippie collection and placed them in pillbox , this is called condensation to avoid bringing a lot of makeup products in gigs. Ohh have you seen the latest post of Wayne of Gossmakeupartist? I should have known about Vueset Palettes earlier instead of placing my depotted lippies in a pillbox to make them look more nice (and uhmm professional looking perhaps?). Anyways, before the year ended, I got lippie packages. First, was from Virginia Olsen. I saw a preview of their organic lip product through the IG account.

These lippies are very pigmented indeed!

Sweet seduction is a pretty medium toned pink. Surprisingly, its intense pigmentation can masked my dark lip lines sans a lip liner.

Divaluscious is a cool toned red.

The first thing I noticed with these lippies was their scent. They have this odd lipstick scent that I do not really like. My nostrils are very sensitive to scents. A product should either be unscented or its scent must be really nice and light or else it can give me a headache. Eventually the scent disappears after a few minutes. I also noticed that it does not have that smooth surface compared to other lippies from big cosmetic companies. No problem with this one. It gives that authentic organic feel to it. I was afraid that these lippies might be too soft that it will melt inside my kit considering its form. Guess what, it turned out that it is hard enough to withstand the heat of Manila! The best thing about it is that it goes on with intense color with one swipe and it does not bleed despite its creaminess. I need not use any lip liners because it this is quite long lasting on me. The downside is that it can really dry up my lips. I need to moisturize and scrub prior to using these lippies or else I will end up with dry patched lips.

I also showed this lipstick to my makeup school classmates and we did the ring test to know if this lipstick contains lead. Lo and behold, when the gold ring was rubbed on a swatch of Sweet Seduction, it did not change color at all!! WOoot!!! I was so happy because the other lipstick they did a test on changed to dark grayish shade when it underwent the gold ring test.

I can't believe it is June already! May has been a very busy month for me. Hence, my inactivity in the blogosphere for the past weeks. Compared to April, I just have a few faves this month. Being busy with my career and not time for makeup exploration has lead me to enjoy the beauty items that I got onhand but I discovered a few new things that might interest all of you. Let us start, shall we?

Landmark has been a cheap thrills paradise for me especially if you are looking for makeup brushes. I have seen this Artist STudio brush from different bloggers and it is only early this year that I have decided to purchase it. This is a slanted flat top brush which costs around 150 pesos only. The bristles may not be as soft as Sigma F80 but for a fraction of a price I can not complain. The brush is soft and does not prick my face. I use it to buff foundation all over my face. I love the fact that I can use it with powder, cream or liquid foundation and creates a seamless application.

Etude House Kissful Tint Choux
I was looking for a lip tint to use on a short weekend trip to the beach. I wanted to buy the lip stains from Revlon or Max Factor but they are are too pricey in my opinion. I immediately thought of going to Etude House because I had a darling lip tint from them before. I chanced upon this instead. I was honestly a bit skeptical buying this tint because it comes in a gloss form than a tint. I bought it anyway because it only costs 278 pesos without high expectation on the product. Let me tell that this product is really awesome.This product applies like a lipgloss but leaves a pinkish stain on my lips even after eating. It also gives off a nice sheen on my lips. A little goes a long way and I love using it with my NIchido Lip Liner in Rosette. More on this product soon. :)

Celeteque Brightening Facial Wash
I was really bewildered when I bought this product because it feels so heavy and full. Compared to other facial wash housed in a tube which has room for air, this one is like a tootpaste. I have to literally squeezed the tube to get the product out. This is way better than their original facial wash. This is one of the best facial wash I have ever tried because it does a great job of cleansing my face and removing my makeup. Also, it does not leave my skin tight and dry after every use. TThis works very well on my dry and sensitive skin. he great thing is it only costs 150 pesos.

Virginia Olsen Sculpting Brush
Price: 450 pesos

As I mentioned in my previous post, this made contouring easy as 123!!!! It is very soft and works well on both cream and powder products. This brush is the first i have ever seen in the local market. Great job Virginia Olsen .

Essence Lash and Brow Gel Mascara
This product is very affordable for only 150 pesos a tube. This has been a life saver for me. I have finally found a product that can tame my unruly brows. Before, I use it after applying my brow cake but I find i find it more useful if you apply it twice. Before applying brow cake and after applying brow cake. If you will look at the first picture, I am almost done with this product. I will make a full review on this soon.

Hurrwa! Black Cherry Tinted Lipbalm

In2it Brow Cake in Eyebrowns
After years of being raved about by local bloggers, I have finally decided to try this product. This stuff is amazing. This is a multi functional product. I use it to contour my nose bridge, as an eyeshadow and for defining my brows. In defining my brows, it is best used with a wet thin angled brush. My officemate commented how nice my the product I use on my brows is, she even thought that I was using a gel liner because it looked very pigmented on my thin brows. More on this product soon.

Glam Works Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes
I never use makeup removers to remove my face makeup because I love using my eskinol to remove my makeup. A beauty blogger commented that I should use a makeup remover because Eskinol can dry out my lips. I have tried a lot of makeup remover wipes but this one is by far the best!!! It has a very refreshing scent, does not irritate my skin and removes my face makeup very well. It cannot remove waterproof mascara or liners, so I still use my ponds cold cream first then I wipe it off with this. This costs 49 pesos and it is buy one take one in Watsons. I have been looking for this in other Watsons branch but I have been buying mine in Watson's greenhills.

Early this summer, Virginia Olsen invited Beauty Bloggers to their 2013 Summer/Spring Collection Launch. Their office is just a few floors from my office and i was so giddy to visit them. I have not heard about them for months now until I saw their newest brush set. I was very curious about their sculpting brush. The only brush I saw that has a similar form with it was from NARS which Dulce Candy used in contouring her face. Their newest brushe set is definitely a winner! They added five new brushes to their collection which are: Angled Eye Contour Brush, SHort Shader Brush, Sculpting Brush, Precision Pencil Brush and a Flat Top Brush.

I finally got their Sculpting Brush. This is worth 450 pesos. Let me just say that this brush has made contouring easy as 123!!! For those with no prominent cheeks or those who have a round and chubby cheeks like I do, this brush is heaven sent. I love how soft the bristles are. I can use it with powder and even with cream products.

Another shot to show you how soft the bristles look like. The bristles are very gentle even on actual use.

Another item I got was their Short SHader brush. I have not yet use this brush since I have not been applying eyeshadow that much. This brush costs 300 pesos.

These are the newest eyeshadow pigments from Virginia Olsen.
I love that there are a lot of greens in this Collection and the colors are perfect all year round.

We had the chance to choose three shades of these new eyeshadows and I got Midnight Glam, Lilac Lust and Sphinx.

My most favorite amongst the three shades is midnight glam.

Hello MLI readers! Good morning!! I would like to express my gratitude to those sweet comments some of you made on my previous post. I miss doing FOTD's a lot! Anyways, I was lucky enough to have these brushes from Virginia Olsen Minerals. I was really excited for the brushes especially the Blush/Contour Brush and the Blending Eye Brush. These two brushes are the ones I am really looking forward to have.

Virginia Olsen Beauty Tools are made from premium-grade materials, which can be used with wet or dry products. These brushes will remind you a lot of the infamous Ecotools brushes because of the bamboo handles and the taklon bristles. Their 5 pc brush set was actually my very first brush set ever. When I saw the samples of Virginia Olsen Minerals Brushes, I honestly thought that there were nothing special about them especially when I heard that they looked like a close relative of the Ecotools brushes. However, when I saw the brushes with my own eyes, I was pretty amazed with the bristles. Also, I did not know that they will have longer handles. The two brushes that caught my eyes were the Blush/Contour Brush and the Blending Eye Brush. For the longest time, I was in search for a good angled brush and a blending brush that are locally available.

The brushes are super soft. I find the bristles softer than those of Ecotools.

Contour/Blush Brush
Price: 450 pesos

I was in love with my Marionnaud Angled Brush for the longest time. However, from the time I got hold of this brush, it instantly became my favorite. The Marionnaud Angled Brush was nothing compared to this baby!! The bristles are soft. This is perfect for those who have sensitive skin like me. NO pricking at all. The brush is dense enough. The size is perfect for contouring. I use this for contouring and blush application. It can create soft airbrushed look on your cheeks. I haven't tried using this with cream blushes/bronzers though. This brush is perfect for light application. Due to its soft bristles, some may find this brush flimsy for their liking. The brush picks up a good amount of product. When washed this brush, it shed only one piece. There were no fall outs on succeeding cleaning. It is very easy to clean and it dried quickly compared to my other brushes. I used it to contour my face in previous post which is the 500 pesos Makeup Challenge.

The size is of this brush is perfect for contouring my cheeks. See photo for reference.. :)

Blending Eye Brush
Price: 350 pesos

For years, I have been an avid fan of the ELF Blending Brush. Currently, I am going crazy over this Blending Eye Brush from VO Minerals. I thought my ELF Blending Brush was irreplaceable. Now, when I compare ELF Blending Brush with VO Minerals Blending Brush, the latter is far more superior in quality than the former. It has soft, smooth and firm bristles. Ideal for blending the color on the lid especially the crease area. The size is perfect for eyeshadow application on the crease area. Small enough to add color on the outer V and for blending out the harsh lines. Compared to ELF, I experience no pricking when I use this. The bristles are so soft and dense. No shedding at all and no bleeding. This brush picks up a good amount of product. I tried using this dry and with wet application and it did a great job of blending the shadows. I also compared it with the blending brush I got the Ecotools 5 pc brush set. As evidence by the picture above, the VO Minerals Blending eye brush has a very nice shape to it as compare to the Ecotools one.

The long handle makes the application easier. I would probably try using this to buff my concealer. :) I highly recommend these brushes to all of my readers.

Hi everyone! How was your day? Mine was really great. I got to visit my grandfather's grave in Antipolo after my hearing a while ago and I also heard last Sunday's church service which I failed to attend to because I went on a vacation. Anyways, it was as if it was only yesterday when my sorority sister told me that she will be bringing a mineral makeup line here in the Philippines. Now, Virginia Olsen Minerals has finally hit Philippine shores. I am not an avid fan of mineral makeup. I could still remember women in girltalk buying samples (1/8 tsp to 1/2tsp) online and these were placed in tiny zip lock plastic bags. I did not jump into the mineral makeup craze. I just had a few pots (the most was five) and that's it. I never thought of buying more. However, I was always fascinated on the benefits mineral makeup gives. The few I have tried never broke me out at all. When I heard that my sorority sister was bringing in Virginia Olsen here, I was prodding her to bring the Milani instead. Haha When I saw the initial samples of V.O. Minerals, I went wild in her office. I had swatches on my arms, excitedly reading the labels and I just could not stop asking her questions. haha

I love the natural lighting in Batangas. I took a lot of shots but these are a few that I really like.

I think that the Virginia Olsen Minerals is one of the mineral makeup that has the best packaging. I also like the fact that what is written in their label is the true weight of the product and not the capacity of the container. Also, they have a wide range of color selection especially for eyeshadows. I was contemplating on buying the mineral liners when I went to the Rockwell Urban Bazaar because they looked pretty and I have not yet tried using mineral powders as liners.

I know you all thought that I got the shade in Donnarence. Haha I did not. I picked a shade that is actually wearable for everyday in the office. (Here I go again with neutrals and wearble hues.. haha) I chose Olive Branch. The shade is a dark olive green with golden shimmers.

The color is very pigmented . With pigments, I prefer to use apply it wet rather than dry to prevent a lot of fall outs or through foiling method. This will make the shades appear more vibrant and the loose powder will readily adhere to your lid. I also suggest using a primer which is creamy to be used as a base.

The golden shimmers are very prominent.

In real life, the colors appeared dark green but when I took a photo, my eyeshadow turned gold with a hint of green. :)

For blush, I got the shade in Terra Cotta. In the jar, it does not look like TerraCotta shade at all. It looked more of a light peachy pink.

Does this look Terra Cotta ish to you? If no, then I am not color blind at all. hehe

When swatched, it turned into a nice peach color with tiny (as in almost unnoticeable)silver shimmers. It applies smoothly on my cheeks. A word of caution, be careful in applying this blush. Do not over apply and make sure the blush sets before applying another layer. I know this might look too pale in the container but it is actually quite pigmented but not overtly pigmented like my Sleek blush or Mac. I was in the cab when I tried it on my cheeks. I was not satisfied with one layer because it looked so light and I really could not see the color then I applied two more layers.. When I look at the mirror to have check on my makeup, Lo and behold, I looked like a clown. wahhh

Make sure you apply a thin layer first and wait for the color to blend on your skin. This blush lasted fairly well on my dry skin like 3 hours or so.

I want to try more from Virginia Olsen. I have been using their blush for days now and I like it. No break outs too. I was thinking of trying out their Green Tea or Hide a Pore line. They also have a nice range of matte bronzers that do not have the reddish tints that look so unnatural.
