Being the no-suklay girl that I always am, I have had many experience when someone would comment and say, "mukha kang bruha" or "mukha kang sinabunutan". More often than not, (dahil aware akong mukha nga akong sinabunutan), I would just smile and quickly run my fingers through my hair to fix it. CreamSilk sent me their latest Stand out Straight Leave on Cream. Truth be told, I did not expect so much from this product because I knew that my hair will always have its own world and the only time I have a control of it are during the times that I blowdry it or use conditioner (which I do not usually use for everyday).

I honestly tried this leave on cream for purposes of review and this came in as a surprise. I absolutely love this product!!! I use this everytime I don't use conditioner. This makes my hair frizz free and easy to comb and manage. I love that it is NOT AT ALL OILY or GREASY! It makes my hair very soft and silky. This only costs 49 pesos and I will definitely repurchase!

I find that it is best used on damp hair. I just airdry my hair (lalo na pag nakasakay sa Tricycle *special ride pa) and the next thing I know, my hair looks bongga na!

How to use Cream Silk Standout Straight Leave on Cream
1. Squeeze a pea size amount on the palm (I usually use 1-2 pea size amounts).
2. Spread the product on your palm by rubbing your hands.
3. Ran your fingers and palm on your hair.

This can be used on dry or damp hair.

How my hair looks like sans combing or brushing. I only ran my fingers through it with Cream Silk Standout Straight.

Last month, BYS celebrated its 3rd anniversary in the Philippine Beauty Market. In celebration of this event, BYS partnered with Glamourbox for a September Exclusive box. BYS is an Australian brand. This brand is designed and developed in Melbourne and is known for their world class quality sans the exorbitant price range. BYS is one of those brands that is always up to date with the latest makeup craze or fashion trend. During the workshop, Pro Mua Katch taught us a day to night look but focusing on the technique of strobing.

Lia, the CEO of Glamourbox, gave a quick introduction before the workshop.

Strobing technique is basically another term for highlighting. It is highlighting the facial features where light would naturally hit the face like the forehead, nose bridge, temples, chin and brow bone. Katch has taught us about baking. Baking is a makeup technique of setting base makeup by letting loose/translucent powder sit on the face for 10-15 minutes. This creates a seamless and flawless finish. My technique is using a lighter shade of loose powder and after dusting it off, viola - instant baking/highlighting all at the same time. The model looked flawless after the baking technique.

We were given BYS products to play with. Here are some of the products that I am excited to use:

BYS Nude Eyeshadow Palette - This palette is fairly pigmented and it is an obvious dupe for the Nake Palette. The colors may not look the same but the packaging is very similar.

The BYS Brow Definition Kit is one of the products that MUA Katch used that really impressed me. It contains a brow wax and three brow powders. This is very pigmented. Do you want me to review this product? Just leave your comment below if you want me to. :)

This year I was excessively obsessed with brows. NYX Eyebrow Gel is one of the products that is in my to buy/to try list. I really wanted to check out the shades before buying this product. Sadly, NYX counters here in MNL do not carry all the five shades. I ended up researching for my perfect shade and buying this product online. I bought this at Makeupinboxph for 285 pesos and I had to wait for 3 weeks to a month to get my order. So again, pre order is not for people with low EQ. hehe

Many considers this NYX Eyebrow Gel as a dupe for MUFE Aqua Brow. I have personally not tried the latter (kasi mahalia) so I do not have the authority to compare the two products. I got the shade Brunette which a is a perfect medium ash brown. This shade does not have any red undertones and looks best on my black brown hair before and it still complements my new golden brown hair now.

It comes in a squeeze tube with a pointed nozzle. It contains a good amount of product (10ml). This eyebrow gel is super duper pigmented. A little amount goes a long way.

This brow gel has a dry mousse like consistency. It immediately fills in the sparse areas of my brows. Due to its high pigmentation, I can easily create strong outlines. This brow gel does not budge and lasts the whole day. I find it to be waterproof and sweat proof as well. As much as I want to use this on my wedding due the aforementioned things, I really have a hard time applying this brow gel. I can't seem to get used to its consistency. The mousse consistency makes it very tricky to work it plus this dries FAST!!!I have to work with short and light strokes to perfect my brow shape. It takes up more of my prep time as compared to using a brown pencil where I can draw my brows even in a moving car (charot!!). This brow gel is not advisable for people who are always on the go or those who does not have too much time to spend on makeup. Also, this works better on neatly groomed brows.

Over all, I am not really impressed with this product. I really wanted to like it but I will choose the Jazzy Collection Brow Gel over this one.

Maybelline has been conquering the makeup scene in the Philippine market lately. They have a lot of new releases this year and I have been going crazy over their newest products. As you all know I am a DRUGSTORE makeup junkee, kung hindi lang ako ikakasal ang dami ko na naman nabiling makeup. Tsk tsk. Anyways, I first saw these velvet matte lip colors in BeautyMNL. I got very curious with it. This year is the "liquid lipstick year". Almost all brands whether high end or low end have their own take on this product.

Maybelline Velvet Matte lip color is housed in a plastic tube similar to the color sensational glosses released a year ago. Correct me if I am wrong I forgot the name of those lippies (pero blinog ko yun ah!). It comes with a tear drop sponge applicator. The size of these lip colors are very handy
I can squeeze in at least three inside my kikay kit in one go or even in my pocket. It only costs 349 pesos but is currently priced at 299 pesos as an introductory price. I got 9 shades. I dont know if this is the complete number of lippies in this line.

The first thing I noticed with this line is that these lip colors are not velvet matte at all except for Mat 11. All have glossy finishes and turns into a matte velvet finish if I use my ring finger to rub the product onto my lips. This technique creates that matte tinted velvety effect on the lips. The color selection is quite good. With a choice among reds, nude, orange, plum, and pinks.

I do find these lippies quite comfortable to wear. They feel lightweight when worn but all shades tends to bleed unless applied by layer in a rubbing manner with the use of one's finger. So I suggest that spreading it with your finger is the best way to apply this lip color. Each shade has a different color pay off. Mat 6,12 and 11 have the best color pay off in the bunch. These colors blew me away because they looked so delectable on my lips. May personal favorite is Mat 11 which is a deep red color. This is by far the second most flaterring red shade I have worn next to my MAC Ruby Woo. Some lip colors needs to be layered to give off that lipstick pigmentation but all look flattering as a gloss. Using a lip liner will prevent this lip colors from bleeding and will give an instant ompfh to the color. For longevity, these have a good staying power. It lasts 3 hrs on my lips the most.

I do notice that these lip colors dries up my lips by mid day esp. MAT 12!! The consistency is smooth and liquidy. It takes to dry. These also settle on the fine lines and can highlight the dry areas of the lips. Exfoliating the lips is a must before using these lip colors.

Here are the lip swatches with shade description:

Mat 9 , Mat 1, Mat 2
Mat 9 is a neutral red.
Mat 1 appear neon salmon pink in the tube but looks like a sheer medium pink on my lips.
Mat 2 looks almost similar with Mat 1 in the tube but this appears lighter in tone.

Mat 5, Mat 6 and Mat 8
Mat 5 is a warm orange but lighter in color as opposed to my lip swatch
Mat 6 is a beautiful hot pink with plum tones that look super nice. This is one of my favorite
Mat 8 is a tomato red.

Mat 10, Mat 12 , Mat 11
Mat 10 is a light purplish fuchsia pink
Mat 12 is the velvet matte color amongst the lippies. It is a beautiful peachy nudd shade that looks like a dupe for Nars Brigitte!!!!
Mat 11 is my ultimate favorite!! This is a super rich and pigmented deep red!!!

Over all, these Velvet Matte lipcolor may not be true to its name but I find that it to be a very versatile lip product. Why? The lip colors can be used as a top coat like a gloss or if rubbed gently onto the lips it goes on like a velvet stain. I really thought these lip colors will not work on me because I have dark liplines but as evidenced by my lip swatches they are fairly pigmented.

I highly suggest Mat 6 and Mat 11!! Have you tried these newest lip colors?
